Fix-a-Form has been pleased to welcome on site an engineering student for a work experience placement. The student had a very productive time with us gaining a view of the general manufacturing environment. In addition to this he gained some valuable experience in the machine shop watching our experienced machinists, setting programmes and operating our range of machining centres.

This is part of a wider picture for Fix-a-Form, where we actively encourage training and careers in engineering and support young people with an interest in the sector. This is reflected in the two formal apprenticeships which are currently operating here, both in the engineering and finance sectors.

Andrew Denny Managing Director commented

“We actively encourage young people who want to get involved with engineering and a work experience placement is a great way to do it.  This gives students a very real insight into the engineering, and in particular, manufacturing world and will hopefully encourage them to seek out careers in this field .”
